Movies

One of the thrills of summertime is having so many movies to see! Jaren and I absolutely love going to the movie theater. One movie we were excited to see was the movie Up, which we went to see with my family yesterday. We also saw Night at the Museum on Memorial Day with Jaren's family, which was also fun!

Up was better than I thought it would be! Not only was it hilarious (Jaren and I were laughing almost the entire show)... but it was also very sentimental. Some parts of the movie are real tear-jerkers. This is definitely my favorite Pixar movie... I actually liked it better than Nemo and Monsters Inc.

Some other movies we're excited to see... Land of the Lost, Transformers, Year One, Ice Age, GI Joe, and HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6 months!

On May 22nd, Jaren and I had our 6 month mark! Now, to those of you who have been married a long time... this may seem silly... but we were excited about it! Our 6th month anniversary gave us a good excuse to celebrate and go out to dinner at Firehouse Pizza (YUM)!!

I can't believe we have been married 6 wonderful months! Time has gone by so fast! I love being married to Jaren!! And Jaren loves being married to me... he said so himself! (At least I think he did... I could be making this up.)

We watched our wedding video not too long ago, it was fun to remember our special day!

hOnEyMoOn!!!!

Jaren and I had the funnest, most exhausting honeymoon! I'm so happy we were able to go! I'm such a Disney lover! I look up to Walt Disney and all he did in his life. And I grew up on Disney films! Disneyworld is so wonderful... it really is the happiest place on earth! And we had a blast at Universal Studios, too! I had never been there so Jaren had to show me around. We had so much fun and got sick going on all the roller coasters and crazy rides there! Anyways, I'll start with day one...

On Monday we went to the Magic Kingdom (which is just like the Disneyland in California). We went on almost every ride/attraction! We started out in Tomorrowland and went on all the rides there. We rode the Buzz Lightyears Space Rangers (where you blast aliens for points), the Carousel of Progress, and the new Monsters Inc. comedy show! We LOVED the comedy show... it was so funny... and the monsters make fun of the people in the audience! The Carousel of Progress was pretty lame... you sit down and your seats rotate around to different sections and it shows you how time has changed and technology has evolved. Anamatromic people tell you about the time they lived in. It takes you through 1910, 1930,1950, and then jumps you to the future/80's! They show you all these future things that we'll never use (like voice controlled ovens) but all the people are still dressed in 80s clothes and the grandma looks like a pioneer. Then the ride malfunctioned and we had to watch it all over again. Jaren and I were laughing the whole time, and we thought it was hilarious.
We went to Fronteirland and rode Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. And then we headed over to Liberty Square to ride the Haunted Mansion. In Adventureland we rode Pirates of the Caribbean, and spotted Johnny Depp! And went to the Tiki Room. And we went through the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse! And Fantasyland was super fun! We went on It's a Small World, the tea cup ride, Winnie the Pooh ride, Snow White ride, and Mickey's Philihar Magic (a 3D show which is so fun to watch)!

We had the yummiest ice cream from Aloha Pineapple! If you ever go to the Magic Kingdom, this is a must-do! They have so many great pineapple treats! We had pineapple vanilla twists and they were fantastic!

At night we saw the spectromagic parade. It was so fun to see all the floats and Disney characters all lit up with lights! Afterwards, they had their famous fireworks!! By the end of the night, we were exhausted.
On Tuesday we went to the Islands of Adventures (a Universal Studios park). There were no lines! We rode the Jurassic Park ride! It is just like the movie! It starts out telling you about the herbivore and you pass them and then all of a sudden a dinosaur pops out of the water and throws you off course. Then you go into the carnivore territory and it gets pretty scary! Some of our other favorite rides were the Dudley Do-Right Ripsaw Falls, Spiderman, and the Hulk! We rode all the rides, and there were absolutely no lines the whole day!!

On Wednesday we went over to the original Universal Studios park. We loved the Mummy ride! I also really enjoyed the E.T. ride. We loved the Men in Black ride, but the new Simpsons ride made us sick!! Twister was cool because it makes you feel as if you're in a real tornado. When the park closed, we bought a movie/meal deal! We ate at a fun Mexican restaurant and saw the new x-men movie.

Thursday we went to Animal Kingdom, one of the four parks of Disneyworld. We had a blast! We rode the new Expedition Everest ride, and thought it was great. We rode Dinosaur, and the River Rapids ride. For lunch we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Rainforest Cafe. The atmosphere and food are great, and it feels like you are in the rainforest! We also LOVED the Safari... and saw so many animals up close! It really feels as if you are in Africa! We also saw the two new shows, Finding Nemo (the musical) and The festival of the Lion King. They were awesome, and very well put together! We also saw the Bug's Life show. Afterward, we headed over to MGM for Fantasmic. We had to get there pretty early to get a good seat. While we were waiting for the show to start, we were entertained by this little 3-year-old boy next to us. He kept doing tricks and trying to get his mom's attention. He made us laugh and we became friends with him. Then he would just randomly give me hugs. It was funny at first until he got really sweaty... then I wanted the show to start! We tried to take a picture with him but he was scared of the camera, so Jaren had to take a picture by surprise! He got mad at us after that for about 5 minutes, and then he came back and entertained us some more until the show start. It was fun to see Fantasmic!

Friday we spent the day at MGM studios. (Well, I think it is called Hollywood studios now.) We went on the new Toy Story ride and absolutely loved it!! It was one of our most favorite rides! We got lucky, because the waiting time was around 80 minutes, but some nice couple just came up to us and gave us their fast passes for it, so we were able to ride it quickly! We also saw the sets from the Prince Caspian movie. We ate lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe, and decided to try a PB and J milkshake, which was surprisingly delicious! And of course we rode Tower of Terror and Rockin Rollercoaster! We also rode the Great Movie Ride, saw the Little Mermaid performance, and a fifteen minute movie of Walt Disney. And the best of all... we saw the Lights Motor Action car show!! (You can see a little bit of it on the movie link below!) It was about a 45 minute show and showed the audience how car scenes are made in action movies! It was awesome, and so fun to watch all the crazy car chases they can do! After that, we headed on over to Epcot! We had dinner reservations at Bistro de Paris, a very nice French restaurant. Jaren absolutely LOVED it... I did not. I thought the food was very gross, but Jaren really liked his food, so I was glad we went there! It was super fancy, and the food looked more like tiny pieces of art then anything edible. Jaren had a 7 course meal and they gave him stuff in-between like sorbet to "cleanse his palate." Our drinks were super yummy, though. We had this orange drink called Orangina. YUMMY! (It was also the one and only non-alcoholic drink.) Afterwards we walked around the countries and looked at everything. I love Epcot all because of the countries. It was fun to walk around while we were waiting for our shuttle to pick us up.

On Saturday, our last day, we went to Epcot. As I said, I love the countries! You really feel like you are in a different country! The workers are interning from the country you are in to learn English. And everything you can buy is straight from the country you are in, and the different foods are fun to try! We tried nachos from Mexico, lefse from Norway (it's this yummy cinnamon butter on bread), and crepes from France! The countries they have are Canada, Great Britain, France, Morocco, Japan, the United States, Germany,China, Norway, and Mexico. We wanted to try something from every country but there just wasn't enough time, and not enough time to get hungry again! We then went to the future world part of Epcot and rode Soarin (taken from Disneyland), the car testing ride, finding nemo ride, and a few others! We loved the Living with the Land ride because it showed how Epcot is using new technology to grow food for the restaurants! And everywhere we looked there was beautiful flowers and landscaping. The garden festival was going on! Everywhere we looked there was something pretty to see! By the time we were done with Epcot, we were so exhausted! We needed some rest.

That night it was SO sad to pack up! We really didn't want to come home. We had so much fun, and were able to do all we wanted to do... we rode all the rides and saw all the shows! We had such a great time!! It was a bit depressing to come home, but I'm glad we have the whole summer ahead of us to play and have fun!
