Merry Christmas everyone!! Jaren and I have had such a fun week! On Monday we went to The Gateway... it was the farthest we have been since our wedding! We were excited. Every year my family has a tradition to go to Salt Lake and see the lights at Temple Square, and then go to The Gateway! It was also our one month anniversary. I can't believe we have been married for a whole month! Time flies!
On Christmas Eve, we went out to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe and then went and saw Austrailia. We decided to start a tradition, and every year the two of us will go to breakfast and see a movie in the morning! It was so fun!! We really haven't been able to go on any dates this past month or get out much, we've just been so busy with everthing! So it was nice to go places this week!
The afternoon of Christmas Eve was crazy! Every year I make a vow to myself to have all my Christmas shopping done early, and every year it never happens! Jaren and I still had shopping to do... the traffic was insane!! The stores were completely packed. We decided next year we won't let this happen. (We'll see how that goes...) But even though it was a crazy afternoon, we still had a lot of fun!
On Christmas Eve evening, we had dinner at my grandma's house and played the pass around game for our white elephant gifts! Then Jaren and I borrowed "The Grinch" to watch at our house. It was a great Christmas Eve!
On Christmas we woke up early! Since we haven't woken up early since school got out, I was so confused when I heard our alarm. I asked Jaren why it was going off so early. He told me it was Christmas and then I remembered! I was so excited! We immediately woke up and opened all our presents! Then it was off to my parents for breakfast. After stopping by, we were off to Jaren's parent's house! We had so much fun with the Mills family! We played a game called "Curses" that made everyone laugh! It was fun to spend time with Jaren's family and see everyone with all their kids. It ended far too quickly. Jaren had to be off to work by 2. He didn't want to go! We were sad. But oh well! I guess you have to do what you have to do. We're just grateful Jaren has a job during these hard economic times. We are truly blessed.
We had a great Christmas! Overall, being married and spending time with our family made this Christmas a wonderful one! It went by too quickly, but we loved every minute of it!

Finals are Over!... And, I need patients.
I took my last final on Tuesday, and I am finally set free! Now I have about 3 weeks to relax until all the craziness starts up again for next semester. Jaren is done too! It's nice to not have to worry about tests and homework for a little bit!
Speaking of next semester, I don't want anyone to feel obligated, but if you know someone or you, yourself have not had a good cleaning in a while... I would love to clean your teeth! I have to fill many requirements for next semester, and I need a lot of patients! I need old people, young people, good teeth, bad teeth... just about everyone!
Here is some information... the clinic is at Weber State. The cost of the cleaning is $28. (This is a great deal... compared to what regular dentists charge, which is about 4 or 5 times as much!) And x-rays are $2 each. (Most dentists charge A LOT for x-rays!) So that is a huge plus!
The only downside is... it takes a lot longer to get your teeth cleaned because us students need to get signatures from our instructors throughout the whole process. We get through a certain section, and then our instructors check to make sure we did a good job, give us feedback, etc. To tell you the truth, though, this will probably be the best cleaning you've ever had because we aren't allowed to miss anything!!
Anyways, just let me know if anyone is interested. It would really help me out. But like I said, I don't want anyone to feel obligated.
Yesterday, Jaren and I had my name changed. I am now officially Mrs. Mills! I'm quite happy about that! The day felt forever long... we changed my name, got my new license, and then put me on Jaren's bank account. We still have to do health insurance (Jaren is filling out the papers as I type this), car insurance, and get me on Jaren's phone plan. Oh, and fill out our grant application. (We just barely got our pin numbers today.) Oh man! Who knew there'd be so much to do after you get married?!
Well, we're excited for Christmas! We have 2 family parties to go to this weekend and it will be so fun!! On Saturday we are going to Jaren's family party and then on Sunday we are going to my family's party! I absolutely love our families and I can't wait to see everyone! It's crazy to me how fast Christmas is coming. I almost don't believe it's even December! Time has gone by so fast for me!

Adventures in TV Shopping!!
We have had some fun times being married. We had an adventure in TV shopping! I have a little one that we used for a while but it only plays VHS. The only videos I had were Winnie-the-Pooh, so... Jaren and I watched them! They are quite hilarious, I must say. Jaren thinks Pooh is just like an old man with Dementia. I agree. Watch an episode and you'll see for yourself!
But... we now have new TV! Yay!! We are so excited!! We bought it with our gift cards from the wedding, so that was nice!! (Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get it.) We were planning on getting the TV earlier, but we had some people tell us to wait until Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) to buy it because it would probably go on sale. We decided we'd give Black Friday a try! We were ready! We had plans to get up at 4 in the morning!! (Needless to say, we slept right through Black Friday. We were so exhausted.) But the next day came, and as we walked through to the technology section of Target, we noticed our TV was indeed on sale! Hooray!! We jumped in excitment! But... then a worker told us that there were no more of the TVs, and that he had just sold the last one a mere hour ago. Oh snap! Our hopes were dashed and slashed. We thought seriously about calling the other Targets until... one of the workers said that we could buy the display TV for 30% off the SALE price!! Gee whiz! What a deal! I was skeptical at first, because the TVs play all day every day, but Jaren talked me into it and I'm so glad he did! We got a fabulous deal on our new TV, and it works great!! Not only that, but while standing in line to purchase our TV, I glanced across the way and saw movies for 3 dollars! I yelled out in excitement, "Three dollar movies!!" And swiftly walked to the movie section. I grabbed Batman Begins, the Hulk, and hidden beneath some weird-o movies was none other than Transformers! (I've never seen it but I knew Jaren liked it... we tried to watch it and I was asleep within the first 5 minutes! But never fear, I will attempt to watch the movie again.) I showed them to Jaren and he was excited too! Now we have some movies to go along with our TV! (And we don't have to watch Winnie-the-Pooh all the time!)
Lessons learned... sometimes Black Friday isn't the best time to shop! It's the day after Black Friday that really matters... Happy Saturday!!

Newlyweds!!
Jaren and I were married on Saturday, November 22, 2008 in the Salt Lake Temple. It was such an amazing day! Everything went perfectly! The ceremony was wonderful, the weather was great, and the reception was beautiful! We couldn't have asked for anything better. We had our family and friends by our side to share our special day with us. And the best part of all... I get to be with Jaren FOREVER!! I have the best husband in the world!!!! (I really do!!) He is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, we didn't get a honeymoon. We plan on going in May and using the plane tickets we won at a bridal show. I had to be right back in school the following Monday. I had such a hard time going back! I just wanted to relax! But it was my first day having an official patient (meaning, a person who is not a dental hygiene student). So, guess who that lucky patient was... my new husband!! Yay for me!! Poor Jaren! I had fun though! It made the day more relaxing to have him as my patient. I knew that if I poked him he wouldn't get mad! So... I took his vitals, probed his teeth, and assessed the conditions of his gums, recorded his existing fillings, showed him how to properly take care of his teeth, and scaled the calculus off (only one quadrant), and hopefully he will come back so I can finish him! He had very healthy gums! No probe reading went beyond a 3! Good job Jaren! (And clinic went really well for me too! I only gave him one little poke!)
Well, I'm sure no one really cares about how our hygiene experience went. So... I'll talk about our new home. When we first started cleaning out our basement apartment... it was scary! There were a million billion spiders and webs everywhere, and the kitchen had food stuck all over the place, and the bathroom... AHHHHH!! But Jaren and I conquered and we cleaned for hours!! Now I love our little place! It's super clean! And it's so much fun!! We decorated it and put up pictures and now it's a nice little home for us!
We decorated our Christmas tree last night! It was so much fun!! Jaren really didn't want to decorate at first, but once we started I know he liked it! Our apartment is full of festivity now! Hooray!
Well, I have 4 finals I need to study for, and Jaren has finals too. We are SO excited for Christmas break when we can be FREE from homework! We love Christmas!!
